From the 1st of December 2018 this practice will no longer offer ear irrigation for the removal of wax as a routine procedure. A leaflet detailing how to instill eardrops that are purchased over the counter from your usual pharmacist, is available at reception.
This leaflet will help you (or your carer) to use eardrops appropriately for up to 7 days – to enable ear wax to be expelled naturally from the ears. Other self-use methods to remove ear wax are also included in the leaflet information.
Patients who have examinations or hearing aid fittings at a hospital, may still be eligible to have an ear irrigation procedure booked, upon production of their hospital appointment letter to reception staff. If you feel that you fit this criteria, but do not have a booked appointment letter to produce, you may discuss with a GP during a telephone consultation (booked as usual via reception).
Other agencies ( eg. Pharmacies)may offer ear syringing as a service but as it is a non NHS procedure, it may incur a charge, which is at the discretion of the agency providing it.
IF YOU NEED URGENT ADVICE FROM A DOCTOR CALL THE PRACTICE NUMBER, TO BE REDIRECTED AS USUAL WHEN THE PRACTICE IS CLOSED.
PLEASE NOTE - from Saturday the 7th of April 2018, the surgery will be closed on Saturdays. We will still continue to be open weekdays from 8am to 8pm.
Patients needing care on Saturdays or Sundays that will not wait till Monday should continue to call NHS 111 as usually advised.
IF YOU FEEL YOU HAVE A LIFE THREATENING EMERGENCY THEN PLEASE CALL 999
From the 1/4/2015 all patients will be allocated an accountable General Practitioner (GP) as required by NHS England. This accountable GP would be responsible for coordinating your care if applicable. If you wish to be notified about who your accountable GP is, please contact reception on the usual contact numbers. If you wish to change your accountable GP, you can ask at reception for an application form to do so. If you wish to opt out of the allocation of an accountable GP please let reception staff know.
Please note- this is an five partner GP practice ( with other none partner Doctors also) and any patient can book to see any Gp they prefer – this will not change.
From the 1st of April 2016 we will be able to offer extended online access to detailed coded records, for some patients aged over 18 years. For more information and a downloadable leaflet - please see our Statement of Intent to offer online services by following the link under further information.
